| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description This portable camping light has 48 LEDs and runs on 3 AA batteries. With fresh batteries it can be used continuously for nearly 30 hours and the life of the LEDs is more than 100,000 hours. With its round design you get light in all directions. This light is perfect for camping, outdoors (especially in tents), or even to light up a dark closet. It comes with a built in hanger so you can easily place it wherever light is needed. It is easy to use with a simple on and off push button.

started on fire with initial use September 1, 2010 schuener I got this as a birthday present for my husband. He put batteries in it and we were impressed with how bright the light was. After about 30 seconds it started smoking! My husband opened it up to get the batteries out and saw that the wires were on fire! Amazon did refund promptly.
Switch Broke after 5 uses August 28, 2010 HowardH (New Jersey, USA) I was impressed with the brightness of this, I use it as a light for a dark pantry. I tested it 4 times, and my wife used it once, and the switch broke. I replaced the switch with a nice metal toggle switch, and its fine now. However if you are not savvy with a soldering iron, you will be severely disappointed.
Sloppy Wireing August 25, 2010 Forrest Received the light today in loose packaging but it came quick~
The LED light has crappy sodering and the connections need to be pushed together with your fingers for a full connection. When lit, some LEDs did not come on; some wire bending did the trick.
Cheaply made...you get what you pay for.
Inexpensive, error in directions, works great August 24, 2010 T. Miller (Silicon Valley, CA) I ordered this lamp, and I noticed that the little molded in pictures inside that show which way to put the batteries in are *backwards*. I don't know why some folks are seeing theirs smoke and flame. Mine works great. I just made sure to put the flat part of the battery against the spring, and the button against the flat side of the holder, and it works great.
In fairness, yes, the holder is flimsy. On the other hand, you can mount this with screws (not included) or how about self-stick velcro?
this sux August 23, 2010 Camper Dad broke after one use. very disappointed as it was great the first time.
good luck if you take a chance and purchase
